In 2011, the IFN office moved into the premises of the main association of the German timber industry ("Hauptverband der deutschen Holzindustrie e.V." - HDH) and the association of the German furniture industry ("Verband der deutschen Möbelindustrie e.V." - VDM) in Bad Honnef. From here the new, extensive communication strategy was started with two focal points:
Strong press and PR work with its diverse facets, such as regular press releases, press trips, visits to companies, brochures, including in English, reports and the targeted placement of topics.
A strong digital presence on the internet and other communication channels, such as the English internet presence with the website www.veneer.eu and the emotional approach with www.furniergeschichten.de/en/, showing 8 films and a slideshow about products made of veneer as well as about the designers and producers of those products.
Since 1 July 2016, IFN is represented by an office in the capital Berlin. This intensifies policy work and advocacy for our branch (significantly). Our department within the premises of the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry in Reinhardtstraße is managed by the lawyer Kamila Sösemann.
